Namaste…Welcome to ‘’My Yoga Body’’ hot yoga classes in Dublin. We have been called Dublin’s newest,
hottest yoga studio! We offer more than just another “hot yoga” experience. We offer an encouraging atmosphere where students at all levels can learn the mental and physical benefits of holding and flowing poses. We recognize that each student who comes to us is in a different place.
Yoga...Put plainly, Yoga is a series of postures designed to improve strength, balance and flexibility but Yoga is so much more than a just a physical workout – that’s why it’s so addictive. Regular yoga practice has been shown to have a number of important health benefits including long-term weight management, greater strength, flexibility, improved body alignment and posture.
Hot Yoga...The practice of yoga in a heated environment has several important benefits. The warmth helps increase your flexibility. You also burn more calories and release toxins. Many students also report relief from back pain & arthritis.
How we are different...Many hot yoga studios offer Bikram Yoga, a practice that includes 26 specific postures in a room heated to 105º F (40 Celsius). We offer a wider- range of different yoga practices, at MYB studio all our classes are between 80-90º F (26-29 Celsius). The heat comes from our special hot yoga heaters & heat is also created by a breath technique (called Ujjayi breath).

Yoga styles & Levels
Level 1: My Yoga Body Level 1 class is tailored for the new student. Total focus is learning the basic postures and proper alignment, linking
breath with movement. It can also be for those wanting to take it slow in a class.
Level 2: This class is for all advanced, intermediate and beginner students looking to move forward with their practice.
Mixed Levels: Most classes are for all levels. If you are a new student and you're feeling up to it by all means throw yourself straight in. But please take it at a pace that you are comfortable with (and take lots of breaks).
We believe it's usually better for absolute beginners to try at least one of our Beginners classes first. This class will teach you the basic postures, help you get to grips with a new way of breathing and will give you the confidence to join any of the Yoga classes we offer.
Hot Yoga Room Temperature: At MYB all our classes are between 80-90º F (26-29 Celsius). The heat comes from our special hot yoga heaters. Heat is also created by the breath technique called Ujjayi.
Music: Is very important to us at My Yoga Body. Each class has a tailored playlist to help to set the atmosphere of the class.
Class description:
Hot Vinyasa Flow
This is a quick paced class, so prepare to get sweaty yoga style! Power yoga will get your heart pumping and help you tone and build strength. It is one of the most effective ways to tone your body. Yoga practice works most effectively if done regularly in conjunction with a healthy diet. An American version of Ashtanga yoga, power yoga is a rigorous and powerful class. Benefits of Yoga practice are toned abs, arms and legs as well as improved posture. Poses can be advanced and held for long durations, but beginners can follow the class at their own pace. Each class incorporates a different freeform sequence that is linked with the breath, to create heat in the body.
Hot Led Ashtanga
The classical power yoga as taught in its traditional sequence. Combines power & flexibility with movement, bandhas & breathe to produce an energetic and detoxifying practice. Sir Pattabhi Jois is the Guru of Ashtanga. He had been quoted as saying ’’ Yoga is 99% practice and 1% percent theory’’. So time to get on your mats and practice!
Beginners Flow Yoga (Intro to Yoga)
Suitable for those who have never practiced yoga before or if you want take a relaxing class. This yoga class begins with deep relaxation and breathing (pranayama). It is also suitable as a post natal yoga class. This class is aimed at building your strength up to a vinyasa flow level. No matter your age, strength or flexibility, yoga is for everyone. Anyone can
do yoga with the right attitude and
right teacher.
My Yoga Body Sculpt Yoga
This is a total body workout designed to tone and sculpt the major muscle groups. Free weights serve as your own personal adjuster as you move through sun salutations and other yoga poses. This can be an intense but easy to follow yoga class. It will help you to tone up, build lean muscles, and burn calories.

FAQ’s

Q. What if I'm not that flexible?
Q. How often should I practice yoga?

Q What does "Namasté" mean?
Q. Can beginners attend any Yoga classes?
Yes. Come and you will experience a really good work out. I have created an atmosphere in which all levels and abilities can practice yoga.
I encourage beginners to pace themselves, and take lots of breaks. The first class is always the worst and especially the first 20 minutes of Sun Salutations which help create a solid physical base and an understanding that will eventually help build strength, focus, stamina and flexibility, and a peaceful mind.
Q. YOGA and a heated room?
I do not teach Birkram Yoga, but do heat the room a nice temperature, which helps stretch muscle fibres and tendons, and helps prevent injuries to these areas while stretching. The heat also helps increase circulation to tissues and organs.
Q. What should I wear/bring to class?
Please bring a bottle of water, a towel and a mat if you have one. Wear exercise clothing that you can sweat in. Also, please arrive to the studio about 15 minutes before your first class to meet your instructor and fill out a short “new student” form. This will also leave you ample time to ask any questions, prepare for class, and relax on your mat. Open your mind and be prepared to have fun.
Q. Are their only women in your YOGA, or can MEN join?
We hear so much about yoga and women. But yoga has a lot to offer man too. First of all, more men take yoga than you think. Not all of our classes have men, but some of them have almost 40% men 60% woman. I do think yoga has a lot to offer men. I just think it's harder for men to begin at first because of the male stereotypes in our society culture, but this is starting to change, as men are realising the benefits of YOGA.
Q. What if I'm not that flexible?
Flexibility is something yoga gives you; you don't have to be flexible to begin yoga. Yoga brings flexibility to the body. When you sit a lot during the work day, or when you're engaging in repetitive motion activities, you're shortening your muscles; yoga allows you to lengthen and expand, and release toxins that build up during these activities. Improved flexibility is not yoga's only objective, nor its only benefit. The final benefit of yoga is to harmonise the body mind and spirit in a healthy physical practice – and this can be experienced regardless of whether you're able to easily touch your toes.
Q. How often should I practice yoga?
A successful yoga practice requires discipline, consistency and commitment. To experience the true benefits of a yoga practice, I recommend practicing two to six days per week, if not everyday. This consistency of practice will create transformation over time. Develop the spirit of repetition and dedication in your practice and you will see results.
Q. When can I look forward to seeing progress in my yoga practice?
Each individual will respond differently to yoga, based on a numerous factors including age, physical condition, and genetics. What is far more vital than measuring "progress" is to just embrace where your practice is, and let go of any subjective self-imposed "goals." Yoga is a life-long pursuit, one that you can go on exploring as long as you live. Yoga is about the journey, so enjoy the ride.
Q. Is yoga a cardiovascular workout?
Yoga is very challenging, and I do believe that you can get a cardiovascular workout, as your heart rate will for sure go up. All postures combine flexibility, strength, and balance to work the total body. With patience and dedication, you can lose weight, develop muscle tone and strength, and become more flexible than with other forms of exercise. Physiologists agree that yoga provides benefits well beyond flexibility and relaxation. A-according to Yoga Journal, recent research shows that yoga may also improve lung function, strength and aerobic capacity
Q. What does "Namasté" mean?
I usually say NAMASTE at the end of a class with the traditional acknowledgement of "Namasté." This gesture is an acknowledgement of the soul in one by the soul in another. "Nama" means bow; "as" means I; and "te" means you. Therefore, Namasté literally means "bow me you" or "I bow to you." This gesture is a deep form of respect, and expression of gracefulness.
